Police to be closely involved in Pike re-entry - Dave Gawn
Police are still not able to say whether they will take part in the Pike River recovery operation. The re-entry plan states that officers will help forensically examine the mine's drift and recover any human remains. The Minister in charge of Pike River Re-entry, Andrew Little, says if the police don't go into the drift the recovery team of experienced miners will be trained to do the forensic work. Dave Gawn is the head of Pike River Recovery Agency. He talks to Susie Ferguson.
