NZTA issues not discussed with Parliament - Brett Hudson

From Morning Report, 8:22 am on 23 November 2018

The Head of the Repair Certifiers Association is blaming the previous National government for NZTA's failings over safety checks on cars. It's been revealed the agency only suspended a Dargaville garage's licence following a fatality, despite investigating the business since 2011. A man died after a frayed seatbelt failed during an accident, despite the car getting a warrant from Dargaville Diesel Specialists several weeks prior. Tony McHugh from the Repair Certifiers Association says the vehicle industry was left to run itself and had been left unsupported for years. Brett Hudson is the National Party's associate spokesperson for transport. He talks to Susie Ferguson.
