Iwi expertise valued for whale rescues

The high number of whale strandings is showing the value of iwi involvement in rescue efforts with one Northland iwi leading the way. Ngātiwai has been at the centre of a number of rescue efforts. Its iwi network system is proving a vital source of guidance and expertise for other iwi who've lost their own traditional knowledge.
