Trucking safety: 'Culture in industry to normalise risk'
Twenty trucking companies have been warned they stand to lose their licences to operate, as the country's biggest-ever road safety investigation expands. Twenty-five truck drivers have also been put on revocation notice, and four have been suspended by the Transport Agency. Clare Tedestedt George has just finished her PhD and a thesis looking into problems facing the trucking industry. This comes after the country's largest road safety investigation has turned its attention to 20 trucking companies which could be forced out of business by Christmas. Clare Tedestedt George tells Susie Ferguson there's a big gap between regulation and reality.
