Pool shut months after engineers raise concerns

Hundreds of Lower Hutt children swam at learners pool for more than two months despite the council knowing there was a high risk of the roof collapsing in an earthquake. Engineers told the Hutt City Council about the problem in late September but the pool wasn't shut until December the first.
