Foreign drivers not causing more car crashes - data
New data has dispelled the myth the rise in the number of foreign tourists driving here means they are causing more traffic accidents. A comparison of crash data and visitor numbers suggests foreign drivers are preportionately less likely to be involved in a crash than New Zealanders. Brent Johnston of the Ministry of Transport, told Ben Strang that the rates of crashes by foreign drivers is actually dropping.
