Western Springs pines removal to go ahead despite opposition

Auckland Council is removing 13 huge pine tree today despite residents of Westmere being up in arms over the decision. The pines are among a stand of around 200 trees that the council has applied to remove through the resource consent process. Residents have gathered to express their dismay, and Lisa Prager is a spokesperson for the protesters who are occupying West View Road at the moment. She talks to Susie Ferguson.
