Former comedian turned mental health advocate Mike King has been named the New Zealander of the Year.
Mr King has been working with health professionals and charities to bring issues like depression and addiction into the public eye - and removing some of the stigma that surrounds them.
He joins the likes of Richie McCaw, Sir Ray Avery, Taika Waititi and Kristine Bartlett who have all received the award in previous years. Mike King joins Guyon Espiner in the Auckland studio.
