Work & Income can help with truancy - principal

A Kaitaia school principal says having a word with Work and Income may be more effective than court action, in reducing truancy. The Tai Tokerau Principals Federation is calling for the prosecution of parents whose children are constantly absent from school. But Brendan Morrissey, from Kaitaia Primary, told our Northland reporter Lois Williams that court action is too harsh.
