Council gives build go ahead then stamps flood hazard notice

A local authority has retrospectively stamped a flooding hazard notice on the title of a retirement village complex, despite giving it the go ahead to build an entire new apartment block a year and a half earlier. The Thames Coromandel District Council put the notice on the Richmond Villas title in December 2018, after granting resource consent eighteen months earlier. Kate Gudsell reports.
