Shane Jones takes Air NZ fare cuts at face value, for now
Regional Economic Development Minister Shane Jones is warning he won't pull punches if Air New Zealand's cut-price domestic fares turn out to be a lemon. The airline is slashing fares on 40 regional routes - in what it says is the biggest overhaul of local pricing in a decade. Mr Jones - who's been a vocal critic of the airline's regional services - says he'll take the announcement as a sign the airline's responding to the regions' needs. He talks to Susie Ferguson.
