The Police Association says Tuesday's shootout in a Christchurch suburb highlights a growing trend of criminals using firearms against officers. A 33 year old Christchurch man fired at officers after his car hit road spikes and came to a stop in a residential street. Police returned fire and shot him in the lower body. Police suspect he was the same man who fired shots at officers in the suburb of Wainoni on Saturday morning. The president of the Police Association Chris Cahill, speaks to Guyon Espiner.
