Army captains walk North Island for disabled son
Army captains Laura and Tane North are about to walk from Wellington to Auckland to raise money to treat their disabled son. Three-year-old Elijah is the third of their four children and has a genetic condition affecting most of his body. He cannot speak, is legally blind, and is fed through a tube. The Norths want to raise $56,000 to take Elijah back to a treatment centre in Australia - where he made a lot of progress during a previous visit. The Norths speak to Guyon Espiner.
