Hunters warned of stigma in peak deer hunting season
Hunters heading into the bush are being warned that some people might be anxious about seeing a person with a gun. This time of year is the peak season for deer hunting, with an estimated 40,000 people out over the next couple of weeks. At the same time, most semi-automatics are being banned after the terrorist attacks in Christchurch and many are looking at gun owners with suspicion. Teresa Cowie has more.
