Naenae businesses struggling in wake of pool closure

Businesses in Naenae in Lower Hutt are struggling and some are having to shut up shop after the closure of the local swimming pool has turned the shopping centre into a ghost town. The Olympic pool regularly drew in hundreds of swimmers a day but was closed three weeks ago after it was found to meet less than 34 percent of the New Building Standard. Locals want fixing and reopening the pool made a priority, despite the estimated $40 million price tag. Emma Hatton reports.
