National Party leader Simon Bridges says the number of serious harm cases before the courts, including rape, sexual assault, murder and manslaughter, has increased by 25 percent since the 2017 election.
Mr Bridges says the government is more focused on reducing prison numbers than reducing serious crime, and that's now hurting communities.
