New Zealand mountaineer Lydia Bradley, who was climbing Mount Everest on the busiest day of the season this year, has described the situation as horrific.
A British man - 56-year-old Robin Fisher- died on Saturday after reaching the peak, bringing Everest's death toll in the past two months to 10.
Photos of long queues near the summit have been widely shared as record numbers ascended the mountain in May.
Mountaineer Lydia Bradey has ascended Everest six times, and was climbing the mountain from the Tibet side the day a huge bottleneck occurred. Two climbers died that day.
