Wellington rail commuters face major disruption after a freight train derailed in the Wellington railyards on Tuesday night.
No trains are running between Porirua to Wellington, Petone and Wellington, and Melling to Petone.
Trains from Wairarapa are also cancelled.
RNZ reporter Jonathan Mitchell is at Petone station. He tells Susie Ferguson, it's a drizzly morning, with many commuters frustrated at the cancellations. Many had not known about the disruptions.
