A potential tragedy was averted at the weekend when a 20-year-old gunman was tackled by two elderly men after he walked into a mosque in Norway brandishing weapons.
Police say the gunman opened fire on the Al-Noor Islamic Centre yesterday, in the town of Bærum on the outskirts of the capital Oslo.
One person was injured - later a woman was found dead at the house of the suspect.
Susie Ferguson speaks to Elin Craig from the newspaper Budstikka, who says police were initially unsure what was happening at the mosque as the phone call to emergency services was made by a worshipper with limited Norwegian.
She says the Muslim community were starting to gather to celebrate Eid, but at the time the gunman entered the mosque there were only a few worshippers there, including two elderly men.
