Public health experts have clashed over plans to fine parents for smoking in a car with children.
Researcher Marewa Glover told the Health Select Committee yesterday the Smoke Free Amendment Bill would do nothing to protect children.
But Prudence Stone, the chief executive of the Public Health Association, called Dr Glover's submission "strange" and suggested it was important the committee know whether submitters had received funding from the tobacco industry.
