Health officials accused of 'calculated neglect' of women

Health officials are being accused of "calculated neglect" and dismissing debilitating gynaecological conditions as "women's problems", as South Auckland women are denied care.

Many women in the Counties Manukau DHB are unable to be treated for so-called non-urgent problems - which includes incontinence and endometriosis - because the DHB is too busy.

But critics say many of the conditions women are having to live with are urgent. Rowan Quinn reports
