Government "cowardice" criticised over "racist" refugee policy
The Government parties have been called out as cowards for persisting with refugee restrictions some have labelled racist and unfair. The policy - which is currently under review - means refugees from the Middle East and Africa can only resettle in New Zealand if they already have family living here. MPs have been considering a petition asking that the policy be scrapped - but have reported back with little in the way of enthusiastic support. Here's RNZ's deputy political editor Craig McCulloch.
