Wrestle over Brexit date continues
A senior conservative minister is insisting that Britain will leave the European Union 10 days from now, regardless of an official request to postpone Brexit. Michael Gove says Parliament legally obliged the prime minister Boris Johnson to ask for an extension but it cannot get Mr Johnson to change his mind about the timing. Mr Gove told Sky News on Sunday that the government would now step up preparations for a no-deal Brexit, including triggering its "Operation Yellowhammer" contingency plans.
