The chair of the Transport Agency has admitted the department let down Cabinet and dropped the ball in its early handling of Auckland's light rail project. It's delayed the process and frustrated ministers. NZTA had been sounding out potential options for funding and building the network - including an unsolicited bid from the NZ Super fund. The then-interim-chair of the NZTA Nick Rogers reportedly dismissed the bid, describing it as little more than a six page powerpoint presentation.
