New sentencing options for meth dealers

Methamphetamine dealers whose own addiction caused their offending can now receive a sentence discount of up to 30 percent. It's one of several changes to meth sentencing options announced today in a Court of Appeal judgment, including that Judges can now consider if an offender's background of poverty and deprivation has impaired their choices or diminished moral responsibility.
