City roads start to reopen around the convention centre fire

Central city roads are slowly starting to reopen around the convention centre. Traffic should move a little easier this morning around Auckland city as cordons protecting the still burning SkyCity convention centre are reduced. Seventy firefighters worked on the fire overnight to ensure hotspots don't flare up again. Cordons will remain around the building site's perimeter, but Auckland Transport is working on reopening other areas that have been out-of-bounds in the central city.
