It's been a turbulent year for British politics, with three Brexit deadlines missed, two deals failing to get through parliament, two Prime Ministers struggling to contain splits in their own party, and a country seemingly more divided than ever.
Now we can add to the mix a snap general election - likely to take place in December for the first time in nearly 100 years.
