Daughter of Erebus captain discusses crash

From Morning Report, 8:24 am on 11 November 2019

The daughter of the pilot who flew the Air New Zealand plane that crashed into Mt Erebus says the disaster has had ripple effects that still influence many peoples' lives today.

A Royal Commission of Inquiry found Air New Zealand had programmed the aeroplane to fly directly at the mountain.

But until those findings were made two years after the accident, the blame had been laid on the pilots.

Kathryn Carter - the daughter of captain Jim Collins - was 15 when her father died.

She speaks to Corin Dann.
