Legislation which would allow some terminally ill adults to request a medically assisted death will go to a public referendum at the 2020 election.
In Parliament on Wednesday, 69 MPs voted for the End of Life Choice Bill and 51 voted against it.
The Medical Association has been one of the Bill's opponents. Its chair Kate Baddock joins us now.
