Labour appears to be throwing down the gauntlet in the fight for middle New Zealand.
Yesterday the government revealed dozens of projects coming out of its $12 billion Infrastructure Fund - including new roads and rail upgrades, and more money for health boards.
Roads get the lion's share with $5 billion - many of the projects adopted from the previous National government.
But a former Green MP says this is a slap in the face for the Greens - and shows what little sway they hold.
