A Whangarei GP says local doctors are being overwhelmed by the numbers of people seeking tests for Covid-19.
The region's Medical Officer of Health, Dr Jose Ortega, sought to ease fears yesterday by issuing a public statement that there are NO active, confirmed or probable cases of Covid-19 in Northland.
Regions such as Auckland as also experiencing a surge in demand, with huge queues at testing centres.
