Stormy weather over the weekend left many Aucklanders running for cover but the downpour was a ray of hope for Watercare.
The upper North Island was hit by a barrage of wind, rain and even tornadoes, and the Auckland water reserves rose by 10 percent bringing the region one step closer to a lift in water restrictions.
