Anyone found responsible for deliberately leaking highly sensitive information about 18 people quarantined with Covid-19 could face criminal charges.
RNZ and two other media outlets have reported seeing personal details of 18 people in quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19, as of late last week.
An investigation into the breach is now underway.
The State Services Minister Chris Hipkins told RNZ political editor Jane Patterson, it's not something he's taking lightly.
