The speed limit on most streets in central Wellington dropped from 50 to 30 kilometres an hour yesterday.
It's thought that new limit will make the city safer for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike.
Among those celebrating the change is Patrick Morgan of Cycle Wellington.
