Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says New Zealand could be doing more on infant mortality.
Speaking to Susie Ferguson after the release of the RNZ Podcast The Unthinkable, Ardern said she wants more discussion about what could be done.
"Let's actually make sure that when we have a conversation about what more we could be doing, we're talking about miscarriage, stillbirth, the example that you've shared this morning."
Ardern said Parliament is looking into ways to better support people who have lost a baby, including providing bereavement leave for people who have experienced a miscarriage or stillbirth, with a report due back from Select Committee on Monday.
