Green Party co-leader James Shaw is backing his co-leader Marama Davidson's statement that tax is love.
Davidson made the statement after the release of the party's policy platform over the weekend, which attracted criticism from members of the right wing.
Shaw said the comment was a riposte to those who say tax is theft and what people do in a civilised society to look after each other.
"Tax pays for our hospitals, pays for our wage subsidy schemes when we have crises like the one that we're getting through at the moment."
