The head of the Hastings Mongrel Mob chapter is among those giving evidence at an urgent Waitangi Tribunal hearing into the removal of tamariki Māori from their whānau by Oranga Tamariki.
The hearing is seeking to find out why there is a consistently higher number of tamariki and pēpi Maori taken into state care.
RNZ reporter Meriana Johnsen has been covering the hearing which has its second and final session on Friday.
