Beirut explosion: Ammonium nitrate rarely used in NZ

Businesses in New Zealand say ammonium nitrate is rarely used to fertilise New Zealand farms.

The flammable chemical caused a major explosion in Beirut yesterday after 2,750 tonnnes were stored unsafely in a warehouse at the city's port.
