Labour Party leader Jacinda Ardern isn't planning on doing a deal with the Green Party in the Auckland Central electorate.
High-profile Green MP Chloe Swarbrick is running to win in the seat and the National Party is without a candidate less than a month before voting begins.
Ardern told Morning Report she can't see why a deal should be done.
"The idea that ultimately at the moment that the candidate that would be polling third should suddenly catapult up, I just don't think is keeping in mind the voting habits of that particular seat," she said.
Swarbrick herself has said she does not want a deal in the seat.
