The historic sentence of life in jail without parole handed down to terrorist Brenton Tarrant marked the end of a traumatic week for families who lost loved ones in Christchurch.
Many chose to deliver victim impact statements and described that process as a cathartic experience.
One of those was Dr Hamimah Tuyan, who left her two sons in Singapore to travel to the High Court in Christchurch to speak and honour her late husband Zekeriya.
