'Common unity' project sees state house backyards become vegetable gardens

From Morning Report, 8:52 am on 4 September 2020

State house tenants north of Wellington are turning their backyards into small farms to help feed hundreds of needy people with the help of a local charity.

It's part of the Common Unity Project's "agri-hood", which sees tenants grow food for themselves, as well as to donate to charity.

Demand for their produce soared during lockdown and it hasn't stopped since.
