Grant Robertson is defending the Labour Party's new tax policy after some criticised it as not going far enough.
39 percent for earnings over $180,000, which would affect 2 percent of New Zealanders.
Robertson is brushing off criticism of the plan could be all sizzle and no sausage and said they could have done nothing at all.
"The alternative here could have also been to do nothing, as well,as to do more. We think we've got the balance about right."
