Southern farmers were bracing themselves for losses overnight as heavy snow continued to fall.
Late yesterday snow started to fall around parts of coastal Otago this evening, with reports of blizzard like conditions in some areas.
Farmers who are nearly through lambing and calving say the snow has been atrocious in parts.
