The number of complaints made by workers about their employers has increased by more than a thousand percent since last year.
The data - obtained by RNZ from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment - shows the vast majority of the 6000 plus complaints relate to the wage subsidy.
While the Ministry says nearly all those complaints have been responded to more than 1000 grievances of all different types remain unresolved.
Chloe Ann King is the founder of Raise the Bar - a group campaigning for the rights and welfare of workers in the hospitality sector.
