It's not just Auckland where property prices are booming - several regions are notching record highs too, according to Real Estate Institute of New Zealand figures.
Leading the way is Gisborne, which has experienced a near-fifty per cent increase in its September median house price compared to a year ago.
That figure now sits at $560,000 dollars.
House buying fever has also gripped the the West Coast of the South Island on the back of a desire for people to relocate there.
