The head of the South Island Whānau Ora commissioning agency says expanding the model across all government departments is well overdue.
Māori social service providers say they're limited in the wrap-around support they can provide and have called for Whānau Ora to be used in the likes of Corrections and Health.
Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu chief executive Helen Leahy told RNZ reporter Meriana Johnsen this is what Whānau Ora was always supposed to be.
