Rotorua's parking system has been called "ludicrous", "nuts" and a "waste of money".
The i-Park system has cost the Rotorua Lakes Council over $1.7 million in the last year - almost 84% of its parking profit It was introduced mid-2018, and it's caused issues ever since.
In February the council waived 2400 parking fines disputed by users.
