New Plymouth getting local acts after WOMAD cancellation
When the cancellation of Womad was announced in December it was huge kick in the guts to the Taranaki economy. But waiting in the wings at the picturesque Bowl of Brooklands stage was a stellar lineup of Kiwi acts ready to help fill the void left by the world music festival. The latest, Six60, packed 15,000 fans into a soldout show on Saturday night. Our Taranaki Whanganui reporter Robin Martin spoke to New Plymouth mayor Neil Holdom.
