The Climate Change Commission says that New Zealand is set to miss every one of its obligations under the Paris Agreement.
Changes must be made to alter course - and in its new report the Commission has made numerous suggestions.
These include a ban on new petrol cars, changes to the way we build homes, and setting more exacting goals for reducing emissions.
Will even that be enough?
