The enormous fire at an Amberley tyre stockpile in North Canterbury could take weeks to burn out.
A 63-year-old man has been arrested and charged with starting the fire on Friday, which is emitting thick black smoke. Critics say the mountain of about 150,000 end-of-life tyres should have been dealt with years ago.
